Kerala police officers’ impromptu performance during night shift goes viral; captures hearts

The heartfelt rendition quickly went viral, with friends, family, and fans flooding the officers with messages and calls.

In a heartwarming moment at Rajapuram Police Station in Kasaragod, two Kerala police officers, K. Shyju and N. Sreekumar, entertained their colleagues with an impromptu performance during a break in the night shift. The duo casually sang a beautiful song inside the station. Their voices caught the attention of their fellow officers, who soon joined in to encourage them.

P. Bindu, a colleague, recorded the performance on her mobile and shared the video on social media. The heartfelt rendition quickly went viral, with friends, family, and fans flooding the officers with messages and calls. The video also gained traction on private TV channels.

Shyju and Sreekumar, both civil police officers at Rajapuram police station, had no formal music training. A few days ago, during their free time on night duty, they casually sang the popular song “Unarumee Gaanam” for their colleagues, completely unaware that the moment was being recorded. After finishing the song, their colleagues congratulated them, and within days, the video did rounds on social media.

Though Shyju only recently took up singing, his talent is already gaining attention. He had previously shared another song online, which also received praise. Both officers are occasionally invited to perform with local music troupes, and they are pleased that their spontaneous performance has brought them recognition.
