Kalpana Raghavendar, the renowned playback singer, was hospitalised after an incident believed to be a suicide attempt. Known for her versatile career, the singer was found unconscious at her residence in Hyderabad and was rushed to a private hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Reports indicate that Kalpana, residing in the Vertex Pre-Village gated community in Nizampet, was found after her house had been locked for two days. The building’s security team grew concerned when repeated attempts to contact her went unanswered. They informed the building association, which then reached out to her husband in Chennai. Despite his efforts to contact her, there was no response from Kalpana.
In response to concerns about her wellbeing, the building association alerted the police. A patrol team arrived at the scene, forced entry into the home, and discovered Kalpana unconscious. She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
As of now, police have confirmed that Kalpana is on ventilator support. Her husband has since arrived from Chennai, and several well-known singers have visited her in hospital.

Kalpana, born into a family of musicians, began her career as a playback singer at the young age of five. By 2013, she had recorded over 1,500 tracks and performed at more than 3,000 shows across India and internationally. She won a prominent South Indian singing reality show in 2010 and later participated in Bigg Boss Telugu.
